Hope you have all recovered over the past few days before we go back to the reality that is school. I have now gone through all of my pictures that I took (over 1000) to be precise and have some excellent shots. I will set up a photo sharing account over the next few weeks where we can all share our best pics. As for the flipcam videos that some of you took, well lets just say there was some very interesting footage and commentary. On that note, as some of you may be aware, Marianne misplaced her camera (red nixon coolpixs) at the farmhouse. Please can you all check that you have not picked it up by mistake. If you have picked up anything that does not belong to you please bring it in to me. Some good news, Parvin's suitcase arrived the following morning!

I will be posting details of the photo competition later where there will be some great prizes available - I know some of you felt really upset not having won that lovely dried fish on the quiz night : )

Enjoy your last day of the half term and see you tomorrow

Volcanic crater lake
Snowball fights outside the Hellisheidi Geothermal plant
Our penultimate day in Iceland : (
Although it started off extremely wet and windy we have had a fantastic day. It started off at a Geothermal Power Plant where we were shown how they create 90% of their energy. Typical bills per month for an average sized house worked out at approx £60! If only in the UK!
A snowball fight followed outside the plant with a bundle finale.
We then proceeded onto Gullfoss Waterfall which was by far the most spectacular waterfall we have seen in Iceland. We have definitely set our sites on white water rafting down the enormous gorge for our next visit in two years time.
Lunch saw many of us sample a traditional 'Icelandic' lamb and vegetable soup. Yum Yum! Naturally some retail therapy followed and there are some great pressies on their way back to the UK.
The Geysers blew many of us away. Lots of aching and freezing cold arms trying to capture each explosion on film.
Our last stop was the Mid Atlantic Ridge where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are spliting Iceland apart by 1-2cm per year. It felt absolutely magical to know that we were standing between them on some of the youngest rocks on this planet! Expect to see many photos when your sons and daughters return.
As we are blogging they are all currently sat in silence watching a film whilst sipping hot chocolate and eating pop corn and marshmallows courtesy of the trip leaders.
Can we take this opportunity to say that we have really had a great trip and hope that they have enjoyed it and learnt as much as we have.
Reminder - we are landing tomorrow at 7.30pm at Heathrow Terminal 1
